Salter School Malden Honors Recent Faculty of the Month: Tina Ryan

The Salter School is pleased to celebrate one of our stand-out instructors, Tina Ryan. The clinical site supervisor at the Malden campus, Tina teaches medical subjects and clinical classes. She has been at Salter for 12 years.

We thought we’d interview Tina to help you get to know her a little better. If you know Tina already, maybe some of these answers will surprise you!

1.  What do you like about working at the Salter School?

Teaching at the Salter School gives me purpose and pleasure to be able to share the experiences and knowledge I have gained as a Medical Assistant. We are a tight-knit community here at Malden and work well together for the common goal of the students.

2. Where were you born?

I was born in Malden, MA.

3. Where did you go to school?

I went to Malden High School and Fisher College.

4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a veterinarian.

5. What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

The 3 words I would use are: loyal, dependable, and sensitive.

6. What is your favorite restaurant?

Legal Sea Foods.

7. If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I would love to go to Hawaii for a vacation.

8. What is your perfect Sunday?

My perfect Sunday is to hang out with my two sons, Zach and Ryan, and to go to the beach.

9. What is something on your bucket list?

One of the things on my bucket list is to go in a shark cage in the ocean.

10. What is your favorite meal to make at home?

A roasted chicken dinner.

11. What is your favorite movie you saw in the theater?

The Purge.

12.  What is your favorite thing about your career at the Salter School?

One of my favorite things is being at graduation and watching my students cross the stage with confidence and excitement, knowing that they will become successful in their chosen fields and that I was a small part of that journey.
